$PATH on Mac OS X, show it, love it, change it!
Here’s a quick list of the places you’ll find that can change your $PATH variable.
First off, to show your PATH on the Mac OS (X) terminal, enter
To change it:
sudo pico (insert favorite text editor here) /etc/paths
List the files in this folder:
ls -al /etc/paths.d/
To edit them, you have to use one from the list returned from above:
sudo pico /etc/paths.d/(each of the file names here)
user file: ~/.bash_profile
Again, to edit it:
sudo pico ~/.bash_profile
-This combination of little tidbits could have saved me a lot of G**gling.
Hope it helped you!
